Holiday Spiced Pear & Berry Crumb Pie

Substitute the pear with apples for another delicious version.



1 1/4 cups large flake oats

2/3 cup brown sugar

1/3 cup all-purpose flour

3/4 tsp ground cinnamon

1/2 tsp each ground ginger and cardamom

1/2 cup softened Lactantia® Salted Butter


Filling :

2 tbsp Lactantia® Salted Butter

4 cups chopped ripe pears (about 4 large)

1/2 cup brown sugar

2 tbsp Fleischmann's® Canada Corn Starch

1 bag (500 g) Europe’s Best® 4-Field Berry Mix, frozen

1 tsp ground cinnamon

1/4 tsp each ground ginger and cardamom

2 Tenderflake® Pie Shells

Sweetened whipped cream (optional)

1. Crumble: Stir oats with sugar, flour, cinnamon, ginger

and cardamom until combined. Mix in butter with a fork

until crumbly; reserve. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).

2. Filling: Melt butter in a large, non-stick skillet set over

medium heat. Add pears; sauté for 5 to 7 minutes or until

lightly browned. Add sugar. Cook, stirring until pears are

well glazed. Sprinkle cornstarch over pears; cook for

1 minute and remove from heat. Gently stir in frozen fruit,

cinnamon, ginger and cardamom.

3. Divide filling between pie shells. Sprinkle an equal

portion of the crumb mixture over each pie. Bake on the

bottom rack for 45 to 50 minutes or until fruit is thickened

and topping is golden. Cool slightly. Serve warm or

at room temperature with whipped cream (if using).
