Ingrédients

Sauce aux fraises :
125 ml (1/2 tasse) de sucre
30 ml (2 c. à table) d'eau
45 ml (3 c. à table) de jus d'orange ou de citron
500 ml (2 tasses) de fraises champêtres Europe's Best® (tranchées ou entières), décongelées

Gaufres :
1 pqt (8 gaufres) de gaufres Eggo® plus Fibres, grillées selon les instructions sur l'emballage
250 ml (1 tasse) de fromage ricotta ou de yogourt nature
30 ml (2 c. à table) de sirop d'érable, de miel ou de cassonade (facultatif

Directions

Strawberry Sauce:
Combine sugar and water in a medium skillet. Cook on medium heat, stirring, just until sugar dissolves. Brush any crystals down sides of pan with a pastry brush dipped in cold water. Cook, without stirring, for 5-8 minutes, or until mixture turns a caramel colour. Add juice. Bring to boil and stir until smooth. Add strawberries and let mixture return to boil. Remove from heat.

Assembly:
Place toasted waffle on plate. Combine ricotta cheese with maple syrup, if desired. Spread 1/4 cup (50 mL) ricotta cheese on waffle and top with 1/4 cup (50mL) strawberry sauce. Top with second waffle and drizzle with another 1/4 cup (50 mL) sauce.
